Since learning about https://fiftywordstories.com/ last year, I have always wanted to get one of my stories published on the site.

Writing a story in only fifty words is a hell of a challenge! I’ve been writing 100-word flash fiction, but a 50-word limit really tests your ability to stick to the bare essentials while still telling an evocative tale. I’ve been reading a lot of fifty-word stories over the last couple of months which has helped me to get a sense of what works (and what doesn’t) and I have tried my hand at writing fifty-word dribbles as well.

I am very excited to announce that my third attempt, entitled “The thin line between order and chaos” was accepted and published today, 9 July 2024, on the site. You can read the story here on the fiftywordstories website.

In the meantime, I’m writing a bunch of flash and short stories that will hopefully find homes in magazines, podcasts, websites or anthologies in the coming months. I’ve also started writing something that could potentially develop into a Young Adult novel, if all goes well.
