My very first publication in a short story anthology 😀

The Black Hare Press’s latest Flash Frights anthology is all about cabins: new cabins, old cabins, dilapidated cabins, perfect-looking cabins, cabins deep in the forest, cabins with *ahem* a history

My 200-word flash horror story “As They Left It” is the penultimate story in this anthology. “As They Left It” is about an elderly man who rents his parent’s old cabin out to holiday makers. All seems to be peaceful and picturesque on the surface, but…

I really like how this story turned out and I’m considering writing a longer story (longer short story or novella) based on it.

I enjoyed all the stories, especially:

  • The Return of Gretel by Ann Wuehler,
  • Survivalist by Shawn M. Klimek,
  • A Place to Call Home by Karen Bayly,
  • Between the Floorboards by Corinne Pollard,
  • Whispers by Jodi Jensen,
  • Vacancy by Liam Hogan,
  • Resident Evil by Dawn DeBraal, and
  • Profile Hunter by Andreas Flögel

The anthology is available in both print and digital formats: You can find links to buy the book here, and see a preview of the ebook version below:
