UPDATE (26 March 2025): Mathematically Sound is no longer available on Kindle. You can now download the story for free on my website or via Books2Read.
Lost in the labyrinth of numbers, lost in time, lost in space.
Somewhere in the white noise, a pattern is waiting to be solved.
A young mathematician, jet-lagged and disoriented after a flight to Tokyo, checks into a capsule hotel for what should be a simple overnight stay before an academic conference.
But in this hotel’s endless corridors of identical sleeping pods, something about the geometry just doesn’t add up.
My flash liminal horror story, “Mathematically Sound”, is now available on the Amazon Kindle store. You can find it here.
The story was shortlisted by Crystal Lake Publishing in their January 2025 Shallow Waters Flash Fiction contest (see my original post about it here).
To be honest, I uploaded the story to Kindle mostly as a way to learn a little bit more about creating an ebook, and how the whole Amazon Kindle and Kindle Unlimited process works.
I’m in the process of exploring other platforms for creating and sharing ebooks. I will also start sharing some of my short and microfiction on my website – so stay tuned for that.
Thank you very much for following my blog and showing an interest in my work! Cheers, MK.
