I am very excited to announce that my flash horror story, “Sugar and Spite”, is a finalist in Crystal Lake Publishing’s Shallow Waters Flash Fiction Contest this month. The theme is: HEARTS (in honor of Valentine’s Day).
A short summary of “Sugar and Spite”: Lola Lewis has spent years being the quiet one in the office, enduring mockery, laughter, and snide remarks from her coworkers. But when a small, stolen moment shatters her last illusion of happiness, she decides it’s finally time to take matters into her own hands.
You can read “Sugar and Spite” here on Crystal Lake Publishing’s Patreon. However, you have to be a 5 USD or higher patron of theirs in order to view the finalist stories. 7-Day free trial subscriptions can be activated here. At the end of the month, all patrons (including those with free trial subscriptions that have not expired yet) will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite story.
This is a very intense theme, so I look forward to reading all the other finalist stories!
