In a quiet 1950s suburb, a beautiful stray cat slips into the lives of a young family—and stays. Generations later, in the very same house, another couple tries to make a fresh start, unaware of the dark legacy curling through the walls like smoke.
I’m thrilled to share that my supernatural horror short story, The Devil Walketh About, has been published in Möbius Blvd. Magazine (Issue 22, August 2025)!
The magazine is available as an ezine and as a paperback on Amazon, and it’s packed with chilling, thought-provoking, and downright awesome stories by a host of talented writers. Have a look at Hobb’s Ends’s website for more information about Möbius Blvd. and their other magazines (Dark Horses and Black Sheep) and their books.

The Devil Walketh About is one of the very first stories I wrote when I began writing again about three years ago. I always believed in the idea behind it—but it took a while to find a magazine that felt the same way. I’m so happy the story has finally found its home and is now out in the world!
I initially wrote the story for the Black Cat Tales: An Anthology of Black Cats (edited by Francesca Maria and Mark S. Causey). It is an amazing anthology – check it out! I love cats, and I find the evolutionary psychology behind humans’ relationship with cats fascinating. Turns out there might be deeper, more morbidly curious, reasons behind our fascination with cats. The Devil Walketh About taps into this and takes it up a notch, blending supernatural horror with elements of domestic, folk, and psychological horror.

I listened to album The Golden Ballroom by The Overlook (https://www.youtube.com/@theoverlook1921) a lot while writing The Devil Walketh About. The title track (00:14:49) is absolutely hypnotic and heart-breaking at the same time.
UPDATE: I’ve turned The Devil Walketh About into a free ebook that you can download on my website or via Books2Read.
Thank you for taking an interest in my stories!
Cheers, MK!
